This fragrance was originally only available through Saks when it first came out. I fell in love with the magazine ad--all the purple and gold and glitter.
I was wonderfully surprised to find that I loved the fragrance, too. I have several forms of it--parfum, travel parfum, lotion, etc. It's unlike any perfume I have smelled before, although my fragrance palate is somewhat limited.
I'm not good at describing fragrances but this one is not overly flowery, has a tinge of spiciness; completely different than #5 or Jessica McClintock, which I also use. It's considered an oriental fragrance--not sure what that means in context of a perfume but it IS exotic.
I love the men's fragrance, as well. I have a bottle of it. My husband will wear it if I ask him to but I bought it for me :P
