Best stuff ever October 18, 2008 C. DeMore I have used this stuff for as long as I could remember. It is THE BEST soap to use on whites, as well as everthing else. We seem to think that suds means its cleaning, the more the better, but not true. I keep a veggie peeler and a bar of this on the washer, and it is usually my only choice. I never had a formula stain that this stuff couldn't get out. My ex was very allergic to posion ivy, and he would spray a mix of water and this on himself before doing any yard work, or for camping trips. For you horse people out there,,,try this soap on those lovely stained leg wraps. It is cheap, safe, a great whitener! Now if I could only find LaFance Blueing powder, I would be in heaven..LOL!
Passes up the newer stain removers! July 16, 2008 Carol Matt (Alton, MO United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just the greatest! Used this on a shirt with a month old stain that the newer stain remover brands could not get out! I have my stain free shirt back! I make my own detergent with Fels Naptha. Inexpensive & works like a charm.
3rd generation use as antidote to poison ivy July 4, 2008 opendoor (Georgia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Fels Naptha is the only surefire way I know to get poison ivy oils off your skin and prevent breakout. When I was little and got into the wrong patch of "grass", my mother--and her mother before her--always got out the "brown soap". It's the best!
Poison Ivy Antidote June 23, 2008 Ann G. Moore (Stonigton, CT USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used Fels Naptha for years to prevent poison ivy. When I know I've been exposed to poison ivy, I wash with Fels Naptha. If I begin to feel a poison ivy itch, despite being unaware of having been exposed, I wash the itchy spot with Fels Naptha. If I cannot get to the soap when I start to itch, as soon as I can, I wash with Fels Naptha. The soap effectively prevents poison ivy when used preventively, and somehow short-circuits an outbreak once it has begun. I am delighted to find that it is still available, as I have been hoarding what I have, thinking it would have to last my lifetime.
GREAT FOR POISON OAK OR IVY TOO May 23, 2008 Cyd Haulter (Madison, IN, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've never tried this as a laundry soap or stain remover but can emphatically state that is does miracles with Poison Ivy or Poison Oak. Just place your finger under the water faucet and make a paste with the soap. Rub it all over the area affected. It will dry it up and take the itch out immediately! I am very allergic to Poison Ivy / Oak and have tried every medication, shots, etc., and highly rank this as one of my favorites...if not my favorite!
